Let's start #PANTHEON

Let's start #PANTHEON

Let's START!

The PANTHEON Pathways to(wards) carbon neutrality for climate, environment, health and socio-economic co-benefits research project aims to create a model and development pathways to carbon neutrality in China and the European Union, so that policies in the EU and the PRC focus on creating benefits in areas such as the environment, health, society or the economy.

The PANTHEON project will focus on two areas in particular:

  • Modelling pathways to carbon neutrality: PANTHEON will develop a sophisticated model that takes into account current technologies, policies and societal challenges. Together with key stakeholders, the project will explore concrete options for a transition to climate neutrality.
  • Mutual learning and collaboration between social and technological scientists in the EU and the PRC. The PANTHEON project will enable consortium partners and identified stakeholders to learn together and explore the best solutions to decarbonise the economy. In doing so, PANTHEON integrates natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and stakeholders to develop common recommendations for decarbonisation policies at different levels and within global supply chains.
  • The PANTHEON project aims to contribute to the achievement of the climate goals of both regions through an innovative and interdisciplinary approach to modelling pathways towards climate neutrality.

The Jagiellonian University team is responsible for the reflexivity of the modelling process and the involvement of stakeholders (social and scientific researchers, trade unions, industry, NGOs and activists) in the modelling process. The Polish team also oversees the project's Advisory Board and is responsible for critiquing the modelling process and assumptions.
